Inventory
Inventory records physical stock for catalog Parts. It connects each received quantity to a stock batch and an exact Location. Use a draft to review additions before they become stock.
Inventory tabs
The Inventory workspace has three tabs. Which tabs you can open depends on your Inventory and Location permissions:
| Tab | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Parts | Review stocked Parts by supplier listing and exact location, expand stock batches, adjust quantities, move stock, or remove a holding. |
| Locations | Browse a hierarchy of physical locations, see stock totals, and manage location records. |
| Drafts | Continue or discard a saved inventory draft. |
The Create button starts an inventory draft when you have permission to create inventory. Additions are staged first, then committed with Add to Inventory.
Inventory concepts
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Part | Catalog record describing a component. A Part can exist before you have stock. See Parts. |
| Stock batch | The receipt identity for a quantity of one Part. A batch keeps its supplier and receipt details when stock moves between locations. |
| Holding | One stock batch assigned to one exact Location. A batch moved to another Location can have a holding at each place. |
| Location | A point in your physical storage hierarchy. Stock is assigned to a specific Location, not just to its parent. |
| On hand | Quantity physically recorded in stock. |
| Reserved | Quantity allocated from a specific holding to an active build during Picking. Matching reservations without a picked holding are not attributed to an Inventory row or Location. |
| Available | On hand minus Reserved at the holding. Part-level Matching reservations also reduce the Part's overall availability before they are assigned to a holding during Picking. |
